Palestinian Women in Great Return of March Film produced by CMC

Gaza-March/2019- Community Media Center produced the film “Palestinian Women in Great Return of March” to document the remarkable presence of women and their active participation in the coverage of the events of the return marches which have completed their first year since it began in March 2018, and continue to this day. Women were prominent in the media crews Monitors violations of Israeli occupation against demonstrators, ambulance crews and media professionals.

The film shows the testimonies of some of the women journalists who were keen to participate strongly and effectively in the coverage of Great Return of March and talk about the challenges they faced and the deliberate targeting of the Israeli occupation in killing and injuring journalists despite their commitment to the tools and procedures of occupational safety.

It is noteworthy that two young women journalists who work in a free and independent manner prepared, photographed and directed the film. They benefited from the capacity development program at CMC where they developed their knowledge and skills in various media areas including the skill of the documentary film industry. Community Media Center is equipped with the necessary equipment to produce the film, as well as overseeing the preparation stages, the selection process of the film’s personalities, and the stage of filming and editing.
