Nurturing Hope film produced by CMC documenting success stories of female journalists in Gaza Strip in defending women and youth issues in media channels

Gaza-March/2019- Women in the Gaza Strip demonstrate every day that they have the awareness and ability to claim their rights and to illuminate their perceptions and attitudes towards their right to express their opinions. This requires the intervention of civil society institutions to equip them with the knowledge and skills to help them defend their rights, ensure their full and effective participation, and ensure equal opportunities for them to reach decision-making positions at all levels in political, economic and public life.

Since its beginning, CMC has been advocating for the rights of diverse groups of society giving the priority to various women’s issues through the Palestinian media, thereby contributing to the promotion of the values of human rights, women and gender equality with the focus on youth issues and the spotlight within the human rights-based approach.

In this context, CMC produced a documentary film entitled “Nurturing hope” which documents the success stories of the journalists; Heba Kreezem and Doaa Abu Jazar in the world of journalism and defending the issues of women and youth. It highlights the role of CMC and its contribution to the development of their capacities and the capacities of many young women journalists by providing them with the necessary skills to become female advocates and activists in all forms of media channels.
